God’s Word On Beauty

I have read that the original Greek and Hebrew words used in the Bible that are translated “beauty” gives some interesting ways in which the word should be used. One word describes that which is ripe in its season, produced at the right time. This suggested to me, that things are loveliest, and best when they are in right seasons. It said to me that, me being a woman, a Godly woman, I have to operate in “my season”, understanding that my life has many seasons, and each one I go through can be my prime, if I represent it well! When I was a little girl, I was a beautiful  little girl, and seen as such. But now I’m an adult Godly Woman, ripe in my season and producing fruit, BEAUTIFUL!...and so are you!
Another word points to the “Beauty of Holiness, majesty, and splendor.” Our Awesome God has this kind of Beauty! And everyone that chooses to walk with Him and live for Him, is a direct refection of this.
There is another translated Bible word for Beauty which speaks of grace, favor, sweetness and charm. I smiled when I saw this because, I realize that these are attributes that we as Godly women must strive to perfect! But not to worry, as we mature in the Lord, they become more and more evident.
When you think about everything the word Beauty represents in God’s Word, Godly Women are: Physically beautiful, pleasing to behold, filled with grace and charm, pleasing to be with, representing well the proper season of life, and filled with the Beauty of God’s holiness and majesty!
Glory!!! We are GODLY AND BEAUTIFUL!

                              Real Beauty ...

Real Beauty Is Inside ~ In the story of Isaac and Rebekah in Gen. 24, it tells us that Rebekah had physical beauty.  But the servant who was looking for a wife for his master, was looking for inner beauty! When she offered to give him water, and to  water his camels this showed an inner beauty of submission,  humility, and servitude. Physical beauty is important to us, that’s why we spend money and time improving it! But think about it, how much time do we spend working on our inner beauty? Galatians 5:22-23 are  beauty treatments that will make us beautiful, inside and out!
Real Beauty Affects Others Positively ~ A life that has been changed by God, speaks loudly and clearly! Peter taught Christian wives to develop their inner beauty rather than being overly concerned with their appearance. What he was saying is, let your husband be won by your love rather than your looks!  This also goes for everyone else we may have in our lives. Living like Christ , and demonstrating His Love, will positively affect others. Remember, we should not be obsessed by fashion and makeup, but neither should we be so unconcerned that we do not bother to care for ourselves and our appearance! After all, look at who we represent! Godly Love and Godly Behavior makes us GODLY AND BEAUTIFUL!
1 TIMOTHY 2:10 ~ “For women who claim to be devoted to God should make themselves attractive by the good things they do.” (NLT)
